Biography

Ian has been heavily involved in Additive Manufacturing (AM) since 1989, and continues to be passionate about what it can achieve.  
He set up, developed and ran AM facilities at Rover, BMW and MG Rover during the 90s.  Ian has worked in the Automotive and Aerospace industries for nearly 30 years – for the majority of the time, running AM production and driving its strategic integration. He has been CEO of the UK’s largest Plastic and Metal Production AM service provider, 3T RPD, for over 11 years. 
3T provides customers in the aerospace, automotive, formula 1 and engineering industries with a comprehensive and complete AM production process chain service, which spans Design and Training, top-end AM production, 5-Axis CNC machining, special surface finishing, heat treatment and NDT.  The 3T corporate goal is to be the global first choice provider of Additive Manufacturing Production parts and is proud to export approaching 50% of turnover globally.
